When you visit Red Hound Farms, it is our priority to educate our visitors on the importance and history of our working farm. On your visit, you will likely see one our "gentle giants" aka Draft Horses. Draft Horses have been used on farms for decades to assist in plowing, tilling, logging, heavy lifting, pulling wagons, and more. Today, Draft Horses are seen competing in Pulling Competitions of both Heavy (3400 lbs & above) and Light Weight Divisions (3400 lbs & below).
If you are looking for entertainment like never before seen, join us in Clemmons, NC to see the magnificent workmanship between a team of Draft Horses as they compete for the Title of Draft Horse Pull Champion.
A Horse Pull is a demonstration of strength between a team of draft horses, working together. The ability of the team is measured not by how fast they can move, but by how much weight they can pull behind them. This is a highly competitive sport where a driver will guide the horses to pull weighted sleds a certain distance, with the winners being the team that can pull the heaviest load the longest distance.
We love nothing more than getting to share this event with the community on our farm. Not only is it fun to watch, but we also offer fun treats such as drinks and ice cream along with other foods that are available for purchase. With children 6 and under getting in free of charge and all other admission tickets being $5, we offer a reasonable price point for fun activities.
